Intraday Shift Trader – Power & Gas (m/f)

Your role:

You will be part of a professional team that is responsible for managing Statkraft’s Continenal European Power Portfolio in the relevant short term markets. Right now the Portfolio mainly consists of several thousand MW of renewable production capacity for which we provide market access. In your work you are expected to develop and execute trading strategies for the power markets in the UK, Germany and other countries. This requires that you actively contribute to the further development of our models and procedures. As the intraday business is continuous, 24 hours per day for 7 days a week, you will be part of a flexible shift team and will be expected to work night- and weekend-shifts. You will receive additional compensation for these shifts.

In your job, you will get in close contact with almost all the aspects of the utility business. Being a highly qualified employee, you will have the chance to actively contribute to the further development and growth of Statkraft Markets, working closely with various departments in the UK, Germany, Norway and Turkey.

The position is suitable for persons with experience in Energy Management, but also graduates are welcome to apply.

Your profile:

  • Very good analytical skills, strong commercial mind-set and an interest in trading, preferably with a university degree in natural sciences, engineering or business
  • Programming experience (e.g. Python, Matlab or VBA)
  • Flexible, accurate and capable of further developing the business
  • Reliable team player with good communicative skills
  • Fluent in English, the ability to also communicate in German would be an advantage
