Senior Legal Counsel - Corporate Legal, Oslo

Corporate Legal currently consists of about 35 lawyers and has offices in Oslo, London, Stockholm, Amsterdam, Düsseldorf, Tirana, Istanbul, Delhi, Lima, Florianopolis and Santiago. We are now seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to provide high quality legal advice and legal risk management for the relevant business areas in the Statkraft Group. The position reports to Chief Legal Officer, Frode Røttingen.

Your Role
The position involves the following responsibilities:

  • Provide legal analysis and advice related to inter alia mergers and acquisitions, company law, energy regulatory law, contract law and disputes
  • Drafting, reviewing and participating in negotiations of contracts
  • Proactively identify legal risks related to a matter and legal risks affecting the Statkraft Group as a whole, and recommend measures for mitigating such risks
  • Manage relationships with external legal counsels

Your Profile


  • Excellent degree in Law, preferably with LL.M 
  • 10+ years’ experience in commercial legal work from top tier law firms and/or in-house, with substantial international experience
  • Strong knowledge of mergers and acquisitions, company law, energy regulatory law, contract law, litigation/arbitration and other relevant areas of law
  • Experience of managing external law firms
  • High proficiency in written and spoken English
