GIS Expert Wind & Solar Power Germany (f/m/d)

Statkraft recently announced its new corporate strategy, with the aim to strengthen its position as a leading renewable energy company. Statkraft is already the largest producer of renewable energy in Europe and is planning to develop an additional 4 GW onshore wind capacity and about 2 GW solar power within 2025 globally. The majority of the growth is planned in Europe (namely Germany, France, Spain, Italy and the Netherlands), and we are pursuing both organic growth as well as potential M&A opportunities to reach the target.

What we do:

The business area European Wind and Solar (E) is responsible for development and ownership of wind and solar assets in Europe. The business area is also responsible for the project execution of large projects in Statkraft, the group procurement function and development of new business opportunities.

Your role:

As a GIS (Geographic Information System) Expert Wind & Solar Germany your main responsibilities will be:

  • Adapting our existing GIS for wind & solar power in Germany
  • Providing GIS services to individual projects throughout their life-cycle. This includes, but is not limited to, collection and processing of datasets from a variety of sources, data management, analysis and visualization of this spatial data
  • Large scale identification and valuation of project opportunities under consideration of feasibility, profitability and Stakraft’s requirements
  • Providing site assessment including wind reports, noise, shadow and yield from our experts in the headquarter to the project teams
  • Providing background knowledge of the German regulatory regime regarding site assessment (i.e. FGW, LAI) to our experts in the headquarter

Your profile:

  • Excellent team-player with very good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Accurate and structured working method with a high sense for precision
  • Commercial drive and motivation to build the business
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a comparable position
  • Experienced working with ArcGIS Enterprise and WindPro or PV Syst
  • University degree in engineering, economy, business or science
  • Fluency in German and English
