What we do:

Group Tax is the central tax unit in Statkraft and the group`s centre of expertise on tax. The department is headed by the SVP Group Tax who is based in Oslo. Policy setting on indirect and direct tax, tax optimization advice, tax in M&A processes and tax disputes and litigation are core responsibilities for the department. Group Tax has close co-operation with Investment review unit, audit committee, M&A and the different business areas’ finance department`s both nationally and internationally.

Statkraft is currently looking for a Tax Manager to strengthen our local team of tax experts and contribute to our growing business in Germany. The position will be located at the office in Düsseldorf. The Tax Manager will be working in close cooperation with the local finance team in Germany.

Your role:

• Support the business with provision of national and international tax advice
• Assistance in preparation and quality assurance of German tax returns, tax calculation review and tax administration and organization
• Coordination of international VAT and tax advice to the business and support functions
• Give national VAT advice to the business and support functions
• Ensure tax compliance and consistency with local tax legislation and Statkraft Group policies
• Evaluate tax legislation changes and assess the associated impact on the business
• Transaction support – provide tax advice relating to acquisitions and disposals
• Support during tax audits and communication with the tax authorities

Your profile:

• Master’s degree in business administration or law studies with focus on taxes, alternatively diploma in finance [Diplom-Finanzwirt]
• Having passed the tax advisor exam [Steuerberaterexamen] is advantageous
• 3-5 years of tax experience gained in an international environment, from in-house position of a MNE, law firm or accounting firm (Big 4)
• Analytical, efficient, independent, pro-active and solution oriented
• Good communication and presentation skills
• Fluent in English orally and in writing, other languages would be a benefit
• High personal integrity and ethical standards
