Head of HR UK and Northern Europe

HR across Statkraft is continuously working to enable good organisational and people development, and the best possible day-to-day employee experience for our Statkraft colleagues. We are currently seeking a Head of HR for UK and Northern Europe. The role will be based in London and will lead and develop a team of HR professionals located in UK, Ireland, and the Netherlands, ensuring that the team is able to deliver strategic and proactive HR support to all leaders and employees in the local countries. Other markets covered by this role is currently, but not limited to, US and Poland.

To be successful in this role, you must understand local needs as well as business priorities and translate them into high impact work. We envision that you have a flexible skill set, the ability to think strategically, execute tactically, and collaborate across many teams, levels, and situations.

Your role:

  • Be responsible for implementation of HR strategies, HR deliveries and processes in UK and Northern Europe, and ensure the execution of mission-critical processes
  • Ensure your team can deliver high quality HR support and advisory to leaders and employees in UK and Northern Europe through joint deliveries from Statkraft HR
  • As the HR manager in UK and Northern Europe you will be located in London and report to the HR VP Europe.

UK specific:

  • Serve as a trusted partner for senior leaders located in UK ensuring the establishment of sound people management practices and the implementation of consistent decision-making processes
  • Coach leaders in the application of HR procedures, processes and tools, providing the necessary feedback on their effectiveness to the global owners, suggesting improvements and ensuring compliance is maintained
  • Support leaders to identify, prioritize and build organizational capabilities, behaviours, and structures
  • Promote change management and help leaders to change and deal with possible barriers
  • Run integrated actions to strengthen engagement across business units and functions to ensure One HR approach in Statkraft UK
  • Provide local expertise to guide policies and processes, and ensure legal compliance in UK
  • Manage the budget and other financial measures of the HR department

Your team will:

  • Be the first point of contact and proactive HR advisors for employees and leaders in UK and Northern Europe on a range of HR topics
  • Support management teams and leaders locally in a strategic and proactive way across Business units and functions and based on strong local- and business understanding.
  • Deliver HR services in coordination with the HR network in Statkraft to ensure great HR support with consistent quality for leaders.
  • Collaborate with the HR network to help design and deliver global processes and activities locally.
  • Develop, define, and implement specific local processes and concepts based on local needs, where these are not covered by global processes and initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to employer responsibilities and related legislation, agreements, and policies in UK and Northern Europe through solid advisory to leaders.
  • Build strong relations and handle negotiations with local union and employee representatives.
  • Advise other parts of the HR organisation on local conditions, needs and legislation to reduce risk and ensure global processes and initiatives are well implemented in UK and Northern Europe.

About you:

  • Relevant education
  • Extensive experience from operational and strategic HR roles in international companies
  • Leading distributed teams across geographies
  • Experience working and collaborating within a global matrix structure  
  • Experience from working with employer responsibilities and related legislation and agreements in UK, and experience from collaboration with employee representatives 
  • Strong business understanding and ability to provide data-driven advice to leaders
  • Self-driven, assertive and solution oriented
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work efficiently with others to deliver
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written 
  • Fluent in English
